Act 71

Smaller is sometimes cheaper

So, today I needed to purchase tooth brushes and tooth paste. I know, exciting, right?

Anyway, turns out, at my preferred retail location, 100 ml of crest toothpaste is 1.19 while 130 ml of the same crest toothpaste is 2.69. That additional 30 ml cost 1.50 – which is probably why we work so hard to get that last little bit out of the tube.

It’s not nefarious and it’s not trickery. Firms have different pricing strategies for different  product lines and product mixes. If you figure it out, it can work to your advantage.

For today, I’m reminded to do the math and read the fine print. There are always surprises in store(s) when I defy my debt.
